Meet the Local 1107 Executive Board

SEIU Local 1107 is committed to democracy both inside and outside of our union. Our Executive Board is elected by fellow union members, and their role is to carry out the mission and work of our union.

Our Mission
We are SEIU 1107, a community of members on a mission to unite all working people for future generations by leading the path to improve society with a diverse, effective, political, and just organization.

Sam has a deep passion for organizing working people to fight for good union jobs, quality services and justice for all. Over the past 25 years, he’s worked for many grassroots organizations and has 17 years of service with SEIU. He started with Local 1107 in 2017 and has held leadership positions throughout the union. Sam is the son of an immigrant mother from Korea who taught him the value of hard work at an early age. He is proud and honored to help lead SEIU Local 1107 to new heights and build a better future for working Nevadans.

Michelle is a Supervisor for Clark County Child Protective Services and has been a SEIU Local 1107 member for over 15 years. Prior to being elected President, Michelle served as the union’s Secretary-Treasurer and Political Organizing Committee (POC) Chair, and has also served as Clark County Supervisory Unit Chief Steward, and a member of the SEIU Local 1107's Clark County bargaining team.

Yarleny is a registered nurse at UMC and an SEIU member for the last eight years. She has been an active member and leader in the union, serving as a Steward at Southern Hills Hospital and UMC. She is also a Board member of Governor’s Steve Sisolak’s Patient Protection Commission as a Patient Advocate.

Debbie works at Clark County District Attorney Family Support (DAFS). She is Co-Chair of the Political Organizing Committee (POC).

Sunrise Hospital

Board members are elected to three-year terms, and the process is outlined in Article VII of our union Constitution & Bylaws . The board has five officers: Executive Director, President, Secretary-Treasurer, Vice President Public Sector, and Vice President Private Sector. At-large members are elected based on workplace, with every area earning at least one spot and larger workplaces earning more.
