For Nurses Week, We Celebrate Our Power!

Dear Union Family,

I’m Jody, your SEIU Local 1107 Secretary-Treasurer, and a nurse of 20 years. Happy National Nurses Week! On behalf of the largest healthcare and public sector union in Nevada, we honor the incredible work of our members and the compassionate care we provide every single day. Along with our fellow healthcare workers, we keep our hospitals running.

This week, more than pens and socks, or pizza parties, we want what we always want - to be able to deliver safe, quality care to our patients.

And this year, in the 2025 Nevada State Legislature, we are closer than ever to creating safer staffing standards in our state. SB182 establishes minimum nurse to patient ratios, Certified Nursing Assistant ratios, and staffing committees for hospital service and technical staff.

Our union is dedicated to ensuring safe hospitals and working conditions for all healthcare workers. As we celebrate National Nurses Week, let’s stand together for more than pizza parties and compliments.
